Friday Night Strongman: Oly Lifting


Are you looking for a new challenge? For a new way to breathe some life into your stale workouts? Sounds like you’re looking for Friday Night Strongman.

Once each month, Above the Rest Training Systems opens its doors to anyone and everyone that wants to try Strongman. This is the perfect opportunity to get your hands on the implements with experienced athletes who can teach you how to perform the exercises safely.

Each FNS starts at 6:00 PM with warmups. Then we make sure that everyone knows how to handle whatever implement we’re hitting that day, taking time to teach everyone who comes. Afterwards we push each other to see what we can do, and wrap everything up with food and training talk.


USAW Level 2 Certified Coach Josh Karabetsos is coming to teach us all some Olympic lifting basics.

The snatch has become a very popular method of pressing in strongman, with lifters using it to hit big numbers with the axle and the log.

The movement can be tough to learn, so for anyone that has ever thought that they might like to learn how to dip under an implement, this FNS is for you.

We’ll start with Josh working us through the basics of the jerk. We’re collaborating with CrossFit Frontier to make sure we all have space and barbells to learn with.

From there, we’ll bust out the strongman implements to see if we can apply what we learn!

Anyone looking to up their overhead game better not miss this Friday Night Strongman!
