Friday Night Strongman: Grip Challenge

Are you looking for a new challenge? For a new way to breathe some life into your stale workouts? Sounds like you’re looking for Friday Night Strongman.

Once each month, Above the Rest Training Systems opens its doors to anyone and everyone that wants to try Strongman. This is the perfect opportunity to get your hands on the implements with experienced athletes who can teach you how to perform the exercises safely.

Each FNS starts at 6:00 PM with warmups. Then we make sure that everyone knows how to handle whatever implement we’re hitting that day, taking time to teach everyone who comes. Afterwards we push each other to see what we can do, and wrap everything up with food and training talk.

We’re getting the crew together to see how strong our mits are. We’re going to dump out all of our grip toys and go to town.

Get a feel for where your grip stacks up as we bang it out on implements like the Rolling Thunder, the Wrist Wrench, and even the Hercules Hold!

The gym will be set up in stations with each implement having its own space. You’ll be welcome to come in and try anything you’d like!

The Hercules Hold is big and takes a couple of people to operate, so we’ll get it loaded up at the end once everyone has had a chance to work through the other events.

If you’re looking to set some goals for yourself, you can always head over to gripsportint.com and look through all the different events and their records.

While you’re there be sure to check out the Saxon Bar Deadlift. You’ll see our boy Colton Storm up pretty high on the list!
